Popular Car Prices at a Texas Auction Lot
Popular Cars and Texas Auction Prices 🤩 💲
There’s usually a reason for popularity. It could be style, like the Aston Martin, appearance in pop culture (again the Aston Martin in James Bond), dependability like an indestructible early 2000s Toyota Corolla, cost, features, tech, or warranty.
High demand cars hit our Kyle, Texas lot every week, and bids can flare up if the car is in top condition. We’d like to give you an idea of the average price of these popular makes and models at auction. Why? 🤔
Because then you’ll know just how much you can save! 💰
By the way, popularity isn’t everything. Read more about the most reliable cars and how long a car will usually last.
Most Popular Cars in Texas
There are brands and model years that people like and don’t like. We should know, you'll find a wide selection among our inventory.
Here are some of the most popular models in the Lone Star State, in no particular order.
1. Ford F-Series
The most popular car (truck) in America and a lot of them come hit our auction yard. Average sale prices are about $2,000 at auction. You’ll pay half, a third, even a quarter of what you would for the same truck, similar mileage, and condition at a dealer.
Find out what used trucks are the best.
2. Ram 1500
This is a truck! Often bids for these reach $3,000, higher than many other cars, but a steal when you compare to dealers that charge $10,000, $15k, even $20k despite mileage of 100,000 or more.

3. Chevrolet Silverado
Surprise! Another truck. The Silverado is a powerhouse and a very reliable truck that can change owners and still pile on the mileage. Silverado’s average above $2,000 at Public Auto Auction, but once again this is far lower than a dealership! 👌
4. Toyota Camry
Lots of these and the average sales price usually stay under $1,500 for Camry’s from the late 90s through the 2010s. Even newer ones rarely push $5,000 and that is far better than any dealer.
A 2000 Toyota Camry with 100,000 miles could go for $2,600 while at a dealer expect to pay at least twice that. 😮
5. Ford Explorer
These popular, beefy vehicles can hit 200,000 miles in stride if well-cared for. You’ll find them very cheap at auction, especially 90s models and with over 150,000 miles. Average sales are under $1,000 but competition can get fierce, pushing bids past $2,000.
But while a Ford Explorer with 150,000 miles will run you $3-4 grand at a dealer, how does $800 sound at auction? 👍
6. Nissan Altima
7. Nissan Sentra
Both the Sentra and Altima are known for eating up roadway and lasting forever. Both of these models sell for an average $1,000-$1,200 off the auction lot, and many of them have logged over 150,000 miles at the time of sale.
We have more to say about the Altima here!
8. Honda Accord
9. Honda Civic
These Honda models are two of the most popular choices at auction. We’ve sold a gazillion of these, and average bids reach around $1,000! Many of these arrive on the lot with over 150,000 miles but have a lot of road still to clear. At these prices, you can afford major repairs and still SAVE over a used dealership!
10. Toyota Corolla
Average sales prices for a Corolla hover around $1,500 for models from the late 90s to the early 2010s.
Check out our review of the Corolla.
11. Ford Focus
12. Ford Fusion
A Focus will run you, on average, $1,200 at auction, while a Ford Fusion will run a bit more at $2,000, especially for Hybrid models.
Evidence of savings is no clearer than a 2008 Ford Fusion with 125,000 miles costing you around $1,000 at Public Auto Auctions, while a dealer charges around $6,000.
Other popular cars that are growing in sales in Texas are the Toyota RAV4, GMC Sierra 1500, Honda CR-V, and Ford Escape. You’ll be sure to save on any of those models when you visit us in Kyle. 😎
